archeology of an era: socialist modernism

3 - 21 November 2012
exhibition of socialist architecture of photographer Roman Bezjak

For the past five years, Roman Bezjak has travelled across Europe, searching for buildings that could be categorized as representative examples of the architecture of socialist modernism. He created collection of unique pictures that visualizes the archaeology of this modernism in its own way. He took photographs of apartment buildings, hotels, cultural venues and public buildings. Bezjak’s photographs reveal visible wear of utopian world and its placement in our everyday life.

The exhibition is mapping the European socialist architecture on 37 selected works. It takes place as a part of 22nd edition of the festival The month of photography.
