convergence 2008

18 - 21 September 2008
chamber music festival
organisers: Convergence - society for chamber arts, design factory

Convergence is the only musical event in design factory. This was its 9th year and for the third time lovers of chamber music met in design factory.

design factory hosted the festival from Friday to Sunday. The first evening brings another of its unique projects - the complete chamber work of C. Debussy, his unknown pre-opus works as well an unknown composition by E. Suchon. Saturday offers Bratislava Chamber Music (exclusive performance of Bartok's Piano quintet and a world's premiere of three compositions by Marian Varga), Jazz Night (Oskar Rózsa Trio) and a specialty by Brano Jobus and Vrbovski vitazi. The last day of the festival begins with children's adventure trip into the silence of music - Is silence music? The evening belongs to one of the highlights of this year's program - international ensemble of excellent interpreters performs Tchaikovsky's sextet Souvenir de Florence and Tanejev's String trio. Sunday's night concert will be devoted to one of the most extraordinary works of the 20the century, the Messiaen's Quatuour pour la fin du temps performed by Opera Aperta Ensemble.
