Detour. Architecture and desgin along 18 tourist routes in Norway
organisers: design factory, Royal Embassy of Norway in Slovakia, Norsk Form
curators: Peter Johansson and Barbro Westling

After having successfully introduced Contemporary Norwegian Architecture in 2007, this fall design factory is presenting another original travelling Norwegian project: DETOUR.

DETOUR is a trip along Norway´s tourist routes with modern design and architecture. It highlights numerous innovative and interesting installations - rest areas, viewing platforms and service points, which thanks to their bold concepts and high quality workmanship add a new dimension to experience of Norway's natural landscape. They have been designed by Norwegian as well as international architects, landscape architects and designers.

The main installation is made of a wooden construction inspired by the early tourism, with openings which offer a ”direct view to Norway”. It is complemented with 9 models, a film about nowegian fjords and a catalogue.
